I've been wanting to post this for a while now, and I hope everyone has been supporting Breast Cancer Awareness this October month.

About a 2 years ago my mom had a scare on a normal visit to the doctor and they discovered more than one lump in her breast. She then went for a mammogram and scan and they found clusters of lumps around her breast but luckily none of them was cancerous and the bigger lump needed to be drained.

I was still a scholar at the time and I remember coming home then suddenly mom called my siblings and I to her room. We were all wondering what was going on, and there she was looking so scared and sad. Mom then told the news and my middle sister was in tears and the rest of us just went all serious face and forgetting to share our school happenings. Then a week later another scan and examination was done, the next step was to drain the lump and I clearly remember this day because I went with mom to the hospital feeling very anxious for her part. As my mother and I stepped into the doctors office ,just a few seconds later the doctor asked politely if I wanted to watch him drain the lump, I was excited yet scared while watching mom being all brave as the doctor was poking a needle into a breast removing the liquid in the lump. It was all over leaving the atmosphere to feel more relaxed as mom received the news that the lumps was not cancerous but still had to follow a number of visits to get the others drained, and it was said that if she felt any irregularity in the breast she should have it checked out immediately.

People may be aware of Breast Cancer or Cancer for that fact , but how many of us woman forget to examine ourselves and detect this disease in the early stages than later in our lives. Its better to be cautious than sorry.

Reason for this post was to create AWARENESS and hope you lovely readers will be more cautious and encourage other woman to be more aware.
