Review : Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser

Hey Lovelies , Happy Thursday

This review was meant to be posted last year already but did not get a chance to do so, anyway so glad I get to do so now.

It took quite awhile for the BABY SKIN Instant Pore Eraser to reach to South Africa but thank god it did as its such a beauty steal if you on a budget and cannot afford those top brand primers. And how cute is the packaging???? I'm such a sucker for cute packaging so when I finally came across it (sometime early last year) I had to purchase.

When applying the primer to my face it felt soo smooth and soft perfect for a pre-make up base as it smoothes those unwanted pores on your face.

According to some reviews I read some was not so keen on the product as they said it made their face oily or its not effective. I find the product to work pretty fine because I can see a difference when applying my foundation or BB cream my face tends to look smoother.

I have tried a sample of the Benefit cosmetics POREpessional and it seems that it could be a better primer but nevertheless I have no bad points on the Baby skin pore eraser. Besides using this primer I do use others in between just to test and will blog about this in the future.

Why give this product a try:
  • It only retails for R90
  • Great for smoothing out pores and fine lines
  • Can be worn alone
I also did not seem to have any breakouts. Let me know on social media or in the comment section below how you find this primer did it give you any breakouts or oiliness.

Instant pore eraser can be found at your local retail stores

Have a fantastic day.

Getting into 2016

Hey Lovelies

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I'm rather late hey but damn I'm feeling lazy from the festive season which has long past as things are definitely back to normal in the Mother City.

So I think I've taken January as an extended holiday trying to get myself back together and need to be focused once again as we head into 2016.

Here are a few things I would like to do in 2016:
  • Read some books (actual hard copies)
  • Take up a new hobby
  • Start doing some form of exercise even if I start out with walking.
  • Be more consistent with my blog(hopefully!)
besides those few points mentioned there are so many things I'm hoping to achieve but I will take it one day at a time.

I thought to get things swinging again I decided to shoot a look post to get myself back into the blogging mode just to keep me motivated.

In my look below I'm wearing these awesome lace up flats from Mr Price that I'm totally obsessed with paired with a retro printed skirt which was given to me along with a plain black basic tee and some gold accessories and my tassel bag also from Mr P that I love to bits.

Anyway I just want to wish everyone all the best with the year ahead and may 2016 only bring you nothing but joy.

Bye Bye 2015

Time to unwind as we get closer to the end of 2015. Festive/ holiday season has hit Cape Town and the holiday season has begun. Most of you beauties are probably on holiday already and to those working I hope your day at work is flying by because I know you would probably want to ditch the office and rather be relaxing on the beach.

2015 to me personally went in a blink of an eye. I'm not too sure if I really accomplished much this year or if I did I cannot really recall at this moment like I said 2015 just went by too fast. 2015 had its cries and laughs, tragedies and memories but I'm grateful to have gone through another year.

This time of the year is so much fun and chilled and there is such a great vibe in the Cape. What I will be doing this holidays is simply relaxing and some de cluttering before the new year begins (hopefully).

My look below is a very chilled , give me a jean , tee and sneakers I will be more than happy. I feel that my vibrant printed tee is symbolic of how alive this time of the year is and my messy half up down effortless hairdo is how carefree everyone will be and the sneakers and jean is simply me.. oh and the accessories for some fashionable funk.

If you reading this post Thank You for coming back I really appreciate it , I really hope to be more consistent next year on the blog(no promises lol). I also hope that you enjoy your holidays and time off before the new year begins, oh and please be safe on the roads if you are travelling. This will be my last post for the year, I do have a few reviews sitting in drafts which I will be posting next year :) .

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Till next year...bye

Review : Blistex Daily Conditioning Treatment

Hello Beauties,

Okay so this product may have been on the market for ages I don't know, but I thought I'd share a little review because it really worked for me when suffering from some sort of unexpected dry cracked lips which I never have. I don't know the actual reason for having these dry cracked lips maybe it was that I was washing my face with very hot water(oops) and it caused them to dry out or it could be that I suffered from a mild cold or maybe it was just because of the medication I was on.

Anyway... I then used my normal lip balms such as Baby Lips which I adore but it did not seem to work and cure my problem completely(But its my fav for everyday use). I went to the pharmacy and purchased BLISTEX Daily Conditioning Treatment for about R75 after my cousin said I should give it a try as she used the product before.

I can definitely say that this particular lip balm has worked after using it for about two weeks and cured my dry cracked lips completely and would recommend this product if you suffer from extremely dry lips.It should last for some time as I only use it if my lips are super dry but otherwise I use my daily lip balms.

Why buy this product?
  • Extra conditioning.
  • SPF 20.
  • Heals lips quick.
I rate this product 5/5 and a plus is that it has a SPF of 20.
Let me know what you think if you have used it before. You can find this at a pharmacy , Dischem,Clicks or PNP stores.

Summer Wardrobe Shopping Guide

Hi lovelies

Summer has started and I'm sure everybody is in the holiday mood , I know I am. My mood currently is just to relax and be 100% lazy. In my post today I thought I could put together some pieces that I came across online for those that need help to get their summer wardrobe up and going. So here are a few items that I found that I liked and think its a must to have in your wardrobe this summer.

1. Straw hat R79.99 - Mr Price

  • Face protection is a must , we don't want to look all burnt at the beginning of summer do we? A big hat is a cool summer essential and perfect to complete a look.

2. Basic white tee R149 - H&M

  • My mood lately is shop basic , A white tee is a must have for summer you can never go wrong with having too much. It is great for chilled looks especially if you rocking your shorts or jean.

3. Shopper Bag R99.99 - Mr Price

  • I love the fact that these shopper bags are coming in lovely bright and vibrant designs. You can use this accessory as a way to jazz up a plain outfit and is also great to carry along if you hitting the beaches this summer.

4. Shift Dress R119.99 to R139.99 - Mr Price

  • What is your wardrobe without a funky printed dress. I think having a dress especially a shift dress because its so versatile you can dress it up and down. What do you think?

5. Kaftan R139.99 - Mr Price

  • Bring on the word effortless , yes a kaftan is really a good fashionable wardrobe must this summer. If you not one to go for prints Mr price have a cool plain one in stores. Add funky accessories to spice it up.

6. Mirror Avators R49.99 - Mr Price

  • Cannot go wrong with some avators or any sunnies, but a mirrored pair of sunnies is defz a go-to-accessory.

7. Sandals R499 - Poetry Stores

  • When browsing poetry online I loved these peach sandals so cute and simple. I am a huge sneaker person but I would really love this pair from poetry.
I really loved putting this summer guide together and I hope you did too, if soo then I will be putting monthly one of these together to show what items I think are cool to have or things I like from our stores.

Have a great day.

Review : Essence Mattifying Cream

Hello Beauties

After using the Essence My Skin Mattifying cream for a while now, about two months I thought it would be cool to write a little review on it because I find that I use this product daily. When walking into clicks stores I always find myself walking to the Essence section to see what's new and always looking for some budget friendly products. When browsing I spotted the essence mattifying cream and bought it because I did not have a daily moisturiser at the time.

I find that the mattifying cream is a great moisturiser for everyday use even when I'm not wearing any make-up the day. It is also perfect to use as make-up base as stated on the packaging. Most people will most likely use primers(which will most likely be more effective than the mattifying cream) before applying make-up but if you looking something really affordable you should try it. I also see that it does reduce shine in certain areas on face which is great!
I will probably buy this product again because its inexpensive.

Why try this product:
  • Budget friendly make-up base
  • Great for a daily moisturiser

Have a lovely week ahead.

Review : ALOE Range from The Body Shop

Hello All

I'm so excited to discuss these few products I purchased at The Body Shop event I attended (The Body Shop New Look Boutique Store Event). I found the perfect range for my skin finally! I think its called the ALOE range I forgot what the lady that assisted me said, but all I remember is that when I asked for something for sensitive skin she directly pointed these products out to me.

ALOE GENTLE EXFOLIATOR:
Skin-kind polish proven to reveal smooth skin without irritating.
The exfoliator seems to have rougher texture to the Garnier Even and Matte Radience Scrub which I find also works well because its not that harsh on the skin. I recommend this exfoliator to those who love no scent in their facial products. (Price R130)

ALOE SOOTHING MOISTURE LOTION SPF15:
I love the fact that the moisturiser has a Daily Protection from UVA/UVB and helps to sooth the any signs of sensitive skin. The only problem I have is that when after applying I might tend to rub my eye and it then causes a burning sensation to my eye but otherwise I find the soothing lotion to be perfect. (Price R170)

ALOE LIP CARE:
Great for those suffering from super dry lips it helps condition and soothes.(Price R75)

Have a wonderful Thursday.
