Yes, it's Movember

I was always curious to know what this hype of MOvember was between the boys ... I mean MEN, sorry lol. What I picked up in my understanding of this Movember was just the growing of the STACHE for the whole November, therefore MUSTACHE + NOVEMBER = MOVEMBER.
I did some research and what it actually means now is to show awareness of prostrate cancer among men(I did not know this at all, interesting fact right?), since wearing pink in October to support all woman with cancer.

but what I really wanted to know was HOW did this trend "#STACHEtrend" become so popular on clothing ,mugs ,jewelry and so many other many merchandise. Apparently it originated from hipsters as a way to mock conventional ideals of fashion and style, also from the Fingerstache which was used by woman who made a faux stache on the index finger to mix in with the trend. So my guess is that this #STACHEtrend found its way to go mainstream only leaving this quirky simple drawn mustache to become so popular in the fashion industry.

Go on and get your quirky mustache items :) .

This was a little gift I received from Mom.

Bedazzle Your Outfit With A STATEMENT Neck Piece

The STATEMENT NECK PIECE has been in the lime light for some time now, or rather a trend for that matter.

Personally, I was not drawn to these statement necklaces to be honest. My thought on some of these bold showstopping neck pieces was that maybe it was to bold for my personality, as I am very simple LOL.
As time went by, I grew to like these bold popping statement pieces as I acknowledged how it can simply jazz up an outfit.

How to ROCK your STATEMENT NECKLACE :

  • Firstly keep your outfit very simple on top so you neck piece can be the showstopper.(We don't want to hide this beautiful piece do we ?)
  • Wear simple jewelry such as your earrings ect. so that it does not look like you over doing  if you want your neck piece to actually enhance your outfit.
  • Style your hair up leaving the neck piece to give more effect to the outfit , but its up to you leaving it down will be fine too.
  • Pay attention to the necklines of your top or dress.
  • Don't be afraid to go for the bold colours.

Here are some awesome statement necklaces I found on the MR PRICE online store click here to see more beautiful statements at an affordable price.

 Plate Statement - R69.99

Cluster Bead Statement - R69.99

Here is a guideline that can help you pair you statement piece or necklace with a specific neckline that you are wearing. :)

Cancer Awareness Month

Before i get started I joined Bloglovin recently, and for you lovely readers who don;t know what this is, it is a site created for one to follow all your fav blogs on one platform so that you can see updates in a feed how fab isn't that :) sooo.. Follow my blog with Bloglovin .

I've been wanting to post this for a while now, and I hope everyone has been supporting Breast Cancer Awareness this October month.

About a 2 years ago my mom had a scare on a normal visit to the doctor and they discovered more than one lump in her breast. She then went for a mammogram and scan and they found clusters of lumps around her breast but luckily none of them was cancerous and the bigger lump needed to be drained.

I was still a scholar at the time and I remember coming home then suddenly mom called my siblings and I to her room. We were all wondering what was going on, and there she was looking so scared and sad. Mom then told the news and my middle sister was in tears and the rest of us just went all serious face and forgetting to share our school happenings. Then a week later another scan and examination was done, the next step was to drain the lump and I clearly remember this day because I went with mom to the hospital feeling very anxious for her part. As my mother and I stepped into the doctors office ,just a few seconds later the doctor asked politely if I wanted to watch him drain the lump, I was excited yet scared while watching mom being all brave as the doctor was poking a needle into a breast removing the liquid in the lump. It was all over leaving the atmosphere to feel more relaxed as mom received the news that the lumps was not cancerous but still had to follow a number of visits to get the others drained, and it was said that if she felt any irregularity in the breast she should have it checked out immediately.

People may be aware of Breast Cancer or Cancer for that fact , but how many of us woman forget to examine ourselves and detect this disease in the early stages than later in our lives. Its better to be cautious than sorry.

Reason for this post was to create AWARENESS and hope you lovely readers will be more cautious and encourage other woman to be more aware.

p.s Wear pink and show your support to those suffering with cancer weather it being a pink bracelet , t-shirt or accessory.

Today I decided to wear my pink skirt , Grey Casual top with a bit of pink . #PinkFriday.

Review : My Daily Beauty Essential - Garnier BB Cream , Miracle Skin Perfector

A few months ago I walked in Clicks looking for some foundation for my face because it looked to pale for my liking. I asked one of the beauty consultants which product would be best for my skin, and she handed me the Garnier BB cream Miracle Skin Perfector.

I took a chance and purchased the product not knowing what to expect. The next morning I tried it out and was totally impressed. I love the fact that it gives the skin that even tone and glowing effect when applying it to the face not forgetting that light fresh fragrance scent. There are three tone shades available light, medium and dark, I chose medium as it suited my skin tone best.

I'm one who rarely wear make-up but I totally loved this product once using it. The fact that its affordable at only R79/R80 for 50ml and has UV protection of SPF15 what more can you ask for, all this in one product.

This Blemish Balm gives your skin such a luminous look and gives your skin that effortless natural look which I love.

There are other BB creams available from other brands which are much more expensive and I find that Garnier's BB cream works amazing.

You will find this product available at selected retail stores and pharmacies.
